Summary: Objective: To investigate determinates of low birth weight (LBW) on de
children of the high-risk, pregnat.
Design: Coort study wich were recruited high-risk,pregnants who were send to
a maternity and wich consented to participate of a reaserch. Analises: The
maternal covariables were avaliated in level hiererchical foward the outcome
birth weight. We perfom logistic regression and univariate analysis.
Results: Of 140 pregnants, 136 were analyzed. There was a prevalence of 16,2% of LBW. As a highers finds of outcome were in woman with caesarean delivery (72,7%), urinary infection (40,9%), pregnat adult (77,3%), primiparity or multiparity (54,5%), C socioeconomic status (68,2%), 8-11 years of schooling (54,5%), and those were married or union solid (86,4%). The determinants of LBW of children of the high-risk, pregnat were: 1 to 3 number of prenatal visits natal (RR= 45,74 IC95% 3.32, 629.72), (proximal level), 2 or 5 or more years of interval interpartal (RR=9,24 IC95% 1.44, 59.02), primariparity or multiparity (RR=7,91 IC95% 1.30, 48.05) (intermediar level). The sing condition, divorced or widow (distal level), remainded like a protection factor to outcome, in these gorup of study (RR=0,76 IC95% 0.00, 0.8).
Conclusions: Poor adherence to prenatal care, undesirable obstetric history
and the family environment are the determinats of LBW.
