Summary: The hypertriglyceridemic waist is characterized by increased waist circumference and elevated triglyceride levels, being an indicator of the presence of the atherogenic metabolic triad (GOMEZ-HUELGAS et al., 2011; LEMIEUX et al., 2000). In this study, the use of high-risk cardiometabolic drugs (NSAIDs) in the treatment of cardiometabolic syndrome (NSAIDs) 2015). Because it is an easy-to-measure measure that is inexpensive, its application in clinical practice may facilitate the identification of risk factors in the population, since studies have shown its association with chronic kidney disease (ZENG et al., 2016), arterial hypertension (JENNIFER et al., 2008), and in the treatment of hyperuricemia (Chen et al., 2007). Therefore, it is essential to use facilitating tools to identify risk factors in rural populations and that are preferably low cost, since there is a consensus that in rural areas access to health services is scarce, which may directly influence in the health conditions of these populations (BELLAMY; BOLIN; GAMM, 2011).
